In the second fifty percent from the 3rd century, Ancyra was invaded in immediate succession by the Goths coming in the west (who rode considerably into the guts of Cappadocia, using slaves and pillaging) and later on from the Arabs. For around ten years, the town was one of many western outposts of 1 of Palmyrean empress Zenobia in the Syrian Dese
